The FISU delegation visited the venues of the 9th World University Canoe Sprint Championship 2020

The representatives of the International University Sports Federation (FISU) Fiona Testuz and ZeljkoRajkovicarrived on 26 August 2019 in Minsk to monitor WUC Canoe Sprint 2020 preparations.

During the visit the members of inspection commission visited the sport venue, venues of opening & closing ceremonies (rowing canal, Zaslavl), three hotels (“Victoria Olimp Hotel”, “Slavyanskaya” and “Sport Time”), where the representatives of FISU, international and national judges as well as participants of the Championship will live.  FISU delegation was at the Belarusian State University of Physical Education, the museum of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Belarus and found out how our country prepares specialists in the field ofphysical education, sports and tourism, got acquainted with the culture and history of Minsk. The inspection visit ended with a meeting in the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus with the Head of the Main Administration of Upbringing and Youth Policy Eduard Tomilchik, the representatives of the Republican Center of Physical Education and Sports for Pupils and Students, Belarusian Association of University Sports, the RepublicanCenterof Olympic Training for Rowing and Canoeing and National Anti-Doping Agency of the Republic of Belarus.

FISU technical delegateZeljkoRajkovicwho has been to Belarus for the second time, noted that technical equipment of the rowing canal in Zaslavl let to hold sports events of the highest level. Summing up the visit the representatives of FISU appraised highly the preparation for the WUC.

All this allows us to hope that such international sport event as the 9thWUC Canoe Sprint 2020 will be held at top level.
